Part I

Terms and Conditions

These Terms govern your access to and use of the Taaruf mobile application, websites, features, content, communications and related services.

1Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Megabee SAL (“Megabee”, “Taaruf”, “we”, “us” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the Taaruf mobile application, websites, features, content, communications and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, purchasing a feature, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and applicable Community & Safety Guidelines.

2Eligibility — 21+ Only

You may use Taaruf only if you are at least 21 years old, have legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and are not prohibited by applicable law from using the Service. Taaruf’s 21+ requirement is a platform eligibility rule. You must provide truthful age information. We may request reasonable age or identity verification and may suspend or terminate accounts where eligibility cannot be established.

3Account Registration and Security

You must provide accurate, current and complete information and keep it reasonably up to date.

You may maintain only accounts that genuinely represent you. You may not create an account for another person without lawful authority.

You are responsible for safeguarding access to your account, device and verification credentials and for promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.

Phone, photo, profile or other verification measures are safety tools and do not constitute a guarantee of a person’s identity, background, intentions, character or suitability.

4Purpose of Taaruf

Taaruf is a social and matchmaking platform intended to help eligible adults discover and communicate with other users. Taaruf does not promise or guarantee a match, relationship, engagement, marriage, compatibility, safety, identity, background, or outcome. Users independently decide whether, when and how to communicate or meet.

5User Conduct

You must use the Service lawfully and respectfully. You may not:

  • impersonate another person, use another person’s photographs without authorization, submit materially false identity information, or create deceptive accounts;
  • harass, threaten, stalk, blackmail, extort, defraud, exploit, discriminate against, or intentionally endanger another person;
  • solicit money through deception, run scams, manipulate payment systems, or use Taaruf for unlawful commercial activity;
  • upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, privacy-invasive, infringing, malicious, or that you do not have the right to use;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems or data, interfere with the Service, scrape it at scale without permission, introduce malicious code, or circumvent security or moderation controls;
  • use Taaruf to facilitate illegal activity or to violate another person’s legal rights;
  • sell, transfer, rent or otherwise provide your account to another person.

6User Content and Licence

“User Content” includes profile information, photographs, text, reports and other material you submit to the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant Megabee SAL a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Service, to host, store, reproduce, format, display, transmit and otherwise process your User Content solely for operating, securing, moderating, improving and providing the Service, subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law. This licence ends when the relevant content is deleted from our active systems, subject to lawful retention, backups, dispute preservation and technical deletion cycles.

You represent that you have all rights and permissions necessary for content you submit. You must not upload photographs or personal information of another person without a lawful basis or permission.

7Moderation, Reports and Enforcement

We may use automated systems and human review to enforce these Terms and protect the Service. Depending on the circumstances, we may warn a user, limit features, remove content, request verification, suspend or terminate an account, preserve relevant records, or take other proportionate action. We may act on credible reports and are not required to disclose confidential moderation methods, reporter identities, security controls or information that we are legally prohibited from disclosing.

Where required or permitted by applicable law, we may preserve or disclose information to competent authorities in response to valid legal process, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate suspected unlawful conduct.

8Safety and Offline Interactions

Interactions between users, including meetings outside Taaruf, are decisions made by the users themselves. Exercise reasonable care before sharing sensitive information, sending money, travelling, or meeting another user. Taaruf is not a background-check service unless a specific feature expressly states otherwise. Verification badges or checks reduce certain forms of misuse but cannot eliminate risk.

9Paid Features, Digital Items and Subscriptions

Taaruf may offer subscriptions and paid features, including digital access, messaging-related features, visibility tools, VIP features, credits, crowns, gifts or similar digital items. Prices, duration, included benefits and renewal terms are displayed at or before purchase. Purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play are also subject to the applicable store’s billing terms and refund procedures. Purchases through another authorized payment provider are subject to the terms presented for that transaction.

Except where applicable law, the relevant app store, or the purchase terms require otherwise, consumed digital benefits and completed digital services may be non-refundable. Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

10Intellectual Property

The Taaruf name, software, interface, branding, logos, designs, databases and other materials supplied by us are owned by or licensed to Megabee SAL and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. No ownership rights are transferred to you.

11Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data are described in the Taaruf Privacy Policy. The Service may involve information users choose to make visible to other users, such as profile photographs and profile details. Review your privacy choices before sharing information.

12Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on third-party infrastructure or services, such as app stores, cloud hosting, analytics, communications, maps, identity/verification, payment, video/voice or notification providers. Their services may be subject to separate terms and privacy practices. We remain responsible for our own obligations under applicable law.

13Availability and Changes

We may maintain, update, change, discontinue or introduce features, provided that we respect applicable law and any rights attached to paid services already purchased. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, telecommunications failures, security incidents, force majeure or third-party infrastructure.

14Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Taaruf and may request account deletion through available in-app functionality or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these Terms, our safety rules or applicable law have been violated; where required for security; or where continued access creates material risk. Where appropriate and legally permissible, we may provide notice or an opportunity to appeal.

15Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not warrant that profiles are always accurate, that every user is who they claim to be, that communications will be suitable or lawful, or that use of Taaruf will produce a particular personal outcome. Nothing in this section excludes obligations or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.

16Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Megabee SAL will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising solely from another user’s independent conduct or from events outside our reasonable control. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability arising from fraud, intentional misconduct, or other mandatory legal obligations. Any limitation will be interpreted consistently with Lebanese consumer-protection and other mandatory laws.

17Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses, claims or reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your infringement of another person’s rights, or your material breach of these Terms. This clause does not make you responsible for losses caused by Megabee SAL’s own unlawful conduct.

18Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Lebanese Republic, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights that may apply. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent Lebanese courts unless applicable mandatory law requires otherwise. Before formal proceedings, users are encouraged to contact us so that the matter can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved.

19Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect legal, safety, operational or product changes. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or another appropriate channel. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Megabee SAL processes personal data when you use Taaruf.

1Who We Are

Taaruf is operated by Megabee SAL, Mar Elias, Zahle, Lebanon. For privacy questions or requests, contact Support@taarufapp.com or +961 70 120 099. This Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data when you use Taaruf.

2Scope and Legal Framework

This Policy applies to the Taaruf application, related websites and support interactions. Our processing is intended to comply with applicable Lebanese law, including Law No. 81 of 10 October 2018 concerning electronic transactions and personal data, as applicable, together with other mandatory Lebanese laws. Where Taaruf is offered in another country, additional local requirements may apply.

321+ Service

Taaruf is intended only for persons aged 21 or older. We do not knowingly permit persons under 21 to maintain accounts. If we reasonably believe an account belongs to a person under 21, we may suspend it and take steps to verify age or delete the account and associated data, subject to lawful retention obligations.

4Personal Data We May Collect

4.1 Data you provide

  • account and contact data, such as name, phone number, email address where provided, date of birth or age, and authentication or verification information;
  • profile data, such as photographs, biography, gender or other profile fields, relationship preferences, interests, education, profession, city, nationality or other details you choose or are required to provide;
  • information you submit for account, age, photo or identity verification;
  • communications and content you send through features we operate, to the extent technically processed by Taaruf or its service providers;
  • reports, blocks, support requests, appeals, safety complaints and information or evidence you voluntarily provide to us;
  • purchase and transaction records associated with Taaruf features. Full payment-card details may be handled directly by an app store or payment provider rather than by Taaruf.

4.2 Data collected when you use Taaruf

  • device and technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, identifiers, IP address, language and diagnostic information;
  • usage and activity information, such as logins, feature interactions, profile views or actions, matches, reports, blocks, purchase events and timestamps;
  • approximate or precise location information where a location feature is used and you grant the permissions required by your device settings;
  • security and anti-abuse signals used to detect spam, fraud, fake accounts, unauthorized access and violations of our rules.

5Sensitive or Highly Personal Information

A matchmaking service can involve information that users may consider sensitive, including relationship preferences, location, photographs, communications and profile information. Certain profile fields may also reveal or allow inferences about characteristics such as religion or other personal circumstances. We process such information only for legitimate service purposes, with appropriate safeguards and, where required, consent or another lawful basis. Users should avoid placing unnecessary sensitive information in public profile fields.

6Why We Use Personal Data

  • to create, authenticate and maintain accounts;
  • to provide discovery, matching, communication and other requested features;
  • to personalize ranking, recommendations and the user experience;
  • to verify accounts and reduce impersonation, spam, fraud and abuse;
  • to moderate content, investigate reports, enforce our Terms and protect users;
  • to process purchases, entitlements, subscriptions and customer support;
  • to send service messages, security alerts and, where permitted, promotional or engagement communications;
  • to measure performance, troubleshoot, analyze usage and improve Taaruf;
  • to comply with legal obligations, valid legal process and legitimate requests from competent authorities;
  • to establish, exercise or defend legal claims and protect the rights, safety and security of users, Megabee SAL and others.

7Matching, Ranking and Automated Processing

Taaruf may use automated systems to rank, filter or recommend profiles and content using information such as profile attributes, preferences, activity, interactions, location or other product signals. Automated systems may also help identify suspicious or abusive activity. These systems support product and safety functions; they do not guarantee compatibility, identity or relationship outcomes. Where applicable law grants a right relating to a materially significant solely automated decision, you may contact us to request information or appropriate review.

8When We Share Personal Data

We may share personal data only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including with:

  • other Taaruf users, for profile information and content you choose or are designed to make visible through the Service;
  • service providers that support hosting, storage, communications, notifications, analytics, security, verification, customer support, voice/video, mapping or payments, under appropriate contractual or confidentiality controls;
  • Apple, Google or other authorized payment/platform providers in connection with app distribution, purchases and entitlements;
  • professional advisers, auditors or insurers where reasonably necessary and subject to confidentiality duties;
  • competent public authorities, courts or law-enforcement bodies where disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law or valid legal process;
  • a successor or transaction counterparty in a genuine merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.

We do not sell personal data as a standalone business activity.

9International Processing and Service Providers

Some technology providers may process or store data outside Lebanon. Where personal data is transferred or made accessible internationally, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate contractual, security and legal safeguards consistent with applicable requirements. The exact provider list may change as our infrastructure evolves.

10Data Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including maintaining an active account, providing purchased services, preventing fraud and repeat abuse, resolving disputes, complying with accounting or legal obligations, and preserving evidence where a complaint or legal matter exists. When data is no longer required, we delete, anonymize or securely isolate it in accordance with our retention processes. Backup copies may remain for a limited technical cycle before being overwritten.

11Account Deletion

You may request deletion through available account controls or by contacting us. Deleting an account generally removes the account from active use and starts our deletion process. Some information may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally required, including transaction records, security records, fraud-prevention identifiers, records of bans, unresolved reports, legal claims or data preserved pursuant to lawful process.

12Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, you may contact us to request access to information about your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion where applicable, or information about how it is processed. You may also manage certain permissions, notifications and visibility settings through Taaruf or your device. Some processing is necessary to provide the Service; disabling required permissions or requesting deletion may make certain features unavailable.

13Communications and Notifications

We may send transactional messages necessary for account access, security, purchases, support and operation of the Service. We may also send engagement or promotional communications where permitted. You can manage push notifications through device settings and use available opt-out controls for marketing communications. Essential service or security messages may still be sent when necessary.

14Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or alteration. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should protect their devices and account credentials and report suspected compromise promptly.

15Safety Reports and Impersonation

When you report impersonation, harassment, fraud or another safety issue, we may process the report, relevant account information, technical records, communications or evidence supplied to us to investigate and enforce our rules. We may preserve relevant records where reasonably necessary for safety, dispute resolution or legal compliance. A report does not automatically establish wrongdoing; we may assess available evidence and request additional information.

16Third-Party Links and Services

Taaruf may contain links or integrations operated by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. This Policy governs Megabee SAL’s processing, not independent processing performed by third parties acting for their own purposes.

17Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect product, security, legal or operational changes. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or another appropriate channel. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.

Community & Safety Guidelines

These Guidelines supplement the Terms and Conditions and describe the standard of conduct expected of every Taaruf user.

Our Standard

Taaruf is designed for adults aged 21+ who want to meet other people respectfully. Every user is responsible for their own conduct. These Guidelines supplement the Terms and Conditions and may be enforced through warnings, feature restrictions, content removal, verification requests, suspension or termination.

1Be Authentic

  • Use your own identity and accurate core profile information.
  • Use photographs you have the right to use.
  • Do not impersonate another person, public figure, business or Taaruf staff member.
  • Do not create deceptive, duplicate or fake accounts to mislead others.

2Respect Consent and Boundaries

  • Do not pressure another user to communicate, meet, share private information or continue an interaction.
  • Respect blocks, refusals and requests to stop contact.
  • Do not harass, threaten, intimidate, shame, stalk or blackmail another person.
  • Do not publish another person’s private information without authorization.

3No Fraud or Financial Exploitation

  • Do not use Taaruf to scam, deceive or financially exploit users.
  • Be cautious if another user requests money, financial credentials or unusual financial assistance.
  • Report suspicious conduct through Taaruf’s support or reporting tools.

4Keep Content Lawful and Respectful

Do not upload or send unlawful, infringing, defamatory, threatening, exploitative, privacy-invasive or malicious content. Content must comply with Lebanese law and any other law that lawfully applies to your use of the Service.

5Safety When Meeting

Taaruf cannot guarantee the identity, intentions or behavior of another user. Take reasonable precautions before meeting someone, avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information early, and use your own judgment about whether an interaction is appropriate. Verification is a risk-reduction measure, not a guarantee.

6Reports and Investigations

Reports should be made in good faith. Provide accurate information and relevant evidence where available. Taaruf may review account information and relevant records, request additional verification, preserve evidence, and take proportionate enforcement action. Deliberately false or abusive reporting may itself violate these Guidelines.

7Enforcement

Enforcement depends on the seriousness, context, available evidence and prior conduct. Taaruf may act immediately where necessary to protect users or the integrity of the Service. Serious suspected unlawful conduct may be preserved or disclosed to competent authorities when required or permitted by law.
